Well I'm back from vacation and when I wasn't out tramping on the Oregon coast, or hiking along the sides of Mt. St. Helens, I thought about the Mud Cat. Yeeef, how's that for an online abuse problem?

Anyway, I was visiting with a cousin about copyrights and related topics. He says he still gets royalty checks from his brother's recordings. (He passed away some years ago.) My cousin said something about mechanical rights; that I ought to make sure I have secured the mechanical rights to my songs.

I asked him whatintheheck were mechanical rights. He said he had no idea, and the whole thing confused him. OK, Catters, edumacate me.
