Mermaid for Tour Boats- Bonnie Raitt version

I am a young woman dressed like a mermaid.
I'm on a rock on a Norwegian fjord
It's kinda cold, wish I had a fire
With only my costume to keep keep me warm

I am a mermaid hired for the tour boats
Wearing a wig and a big floppy tail
When boats go by the men run to the rail
what a way to make a living, but the checks in the mail

I read of the mermaid in Copenhagen
That one and me are the only ones that I know
Just a statue, in the harbour she stands
I've never seen it but one day I'll go
She covers up... her nipples with hands.

There's fish in the water, I can hear them swimming
They're kinda pretty but I don't really care
I am kind of person goes to work in the morning
Covers her torso with nothing but hair

What a way to make a living, with out any clothes
