I am listening to Norman Blake's new one - a choice offering of mostly traditional songs and tunes: 'Flower From the Fields of Alabama' Shanachie 6053. Its highlight for me is a delightful 6-minute rendition of Mississippi Sheiks' 'Sitting on Top of the World' that, with Bob Chuckrow on second guitar, captures that singular mood which Gordon Bok once described in a note to 'Reedy Lagoon' as 'summer sadness'.--Stewie.
