Thread Name: Nautical: Experience At Sea Program
Subject: RE: Nautical: Experience At Sea Program
Just to clear up an apparant misunderstanding here:

The "Experience At Sea" Program and the 3rd Maine have absolutely nothing to do with one another, other than it seemed that the practice of "Educational Outreach" employed by some Reenactors might serve as a model for a similar practice among Musicians. It is my understanding that the operations of the Schooner Lettie G. Howard have absoloutely nothing to do with "Living History", "Reenactment", or any pretenses of historical "Authenticity".

I have no idea what gives "Guest" "Gargoyle" the incentive or pretense to insult the Staff of this program by calling them "illiterate" etc. or threatening to make trouble for them with the University system. As to "Log books", since they have yet to set sail, I don't see where that is an issue... and besides, "Guest"; by what authority are you examining the logbooks of seagoing vessles in this state, pray tell? I'm wondering if we might have this venture entirely confused with that of the "Constellation", reputedly a restored Union Navy warship down in Baltimore. Again, no connection.

Now I only know the folks from EAS by way of E-mail and they seem like fine and decent folk to me; but if anyone has any more gripes with them, please have the decency of providing credible, documentable evidence to support said gripes.. and the "sand" to identify yourself, as most contributors do.

'Preciate it.
