Notes from the CD "Warning: Women at Work," by Rebel Voices: This is a great example of the "folk process" - Harry Belafonte was the hrst person we heard singing this melody; many a parodist has borrowed it since. The Capitol Steps of NPR/ Wash D.C. fame came up with the day care theme, Meryle Korn wrote her version and we tweaked it here and there as well.
Take a look at the website of Rebel Voices - wonderful harmonies.
