Won't posting "IGNORE THIS THEAD" just keep the thread alive LONGER, contrary to "falling of the list of the current day's threads sooner"?

It's a "Free Speech" forum by design and intent. Unfortunately that means we get the Flamers and the Trolls throwing their trash in here for their own amusement, along with the healthy discussions and fabulous information about folk music.

Joe can speak for himself, but I would imagine he combines duplicate OBIT threads for the same reason he labels DUPLICATE threads and deletes accidentally repeated submissions - for convenience and courtesy. That decision does NOT call for an editorial or moral decision.

Resolve PERSONALLY to ignore the cr*p and let those threads die. Respond, if you must, but be prepared for more cr*p in return. But don't blame Joe or any of the hardworking people who keep this board going for what goes on here. Thanks Joe, Max, et al!
