Cultural differences are often difficult to overcome, but the race issue is rather simple, we are all of the Human Race. Minor differences in anthropometry and colour contribute little. For example I have always been very comfortable working and conversing with Africans and Asians. Perhaps exposure to diverse members of the Commonwealth since childhood has been very beneficial in this regard. Cultural differences often make stumbling blocks with initial contact.
