Not quite totally off the subject, but then, that is what some of us do best. I think Alice is a perfectly lovely name, and so do a great many others, including writers of songs.
Here are just a few, compliments of Levy.
Sweet Alice, the bright star of hope that sustains me,
when wayworn and faint, or with care I'm oppress'd
Oh! don't you remember sweet Alice, Ben Bolt,
Sweet Alice, with hair so brown
When first I saw your gentle eyes sweet Alice
Sweetly she sleeps, my Alice fair,
her cheek on her pillow pressed (my personal favorite of all these songs, especially as done by John McCormack)Oh, lest we think all Alice songs are free from humor, how about:
Aurora Borie Alice, In your snowy crystal palace,
There's no girl in all the world compares to you (from Duke)Come to think of it, after looking at the above, I should have said sweet, not lovely!
