I don't know what to think. Maybe I wouldn't call it racism, but there's lots of anti-Chinese and anti-Moslem propaganda going around these days. There's so much falsehood and misperception that has the ring of truth, that I wonder if we can believe anything at all.

My belief is that people are basically good. When I hear talk of a nation of monsters, my first response is to doubt what was said. Maybe there are a few monsters causing a lot of trouble - but I still believe very firmly in the goodness of the vast majority of Chinese and the vast majority of Moslems and the vast majority of Israelis, and the vast majority of all people. I get very nervous about the broad generalizations people make about various groups.
