Oh yeah, Rick. How well I remember the first time. I was asked to sing something in church. I had only been playing guitar about six months, would you believe! I barely knew A, D, and E⁷, let alone C, G, and I couldn't make F at all yet, as I recall. I was so uncomfortable at the thought of it, that at the last minute, I turned to the girl sitting next to me and asked her if she'd help me out. I hadn't memorized the verses, and knew the chorus only. Fortunately, with a little persuasion from ol' silver tongued me, she said yes. As I recall, she had a pretty good voice, and it all came off. Everybody thought we'd planned it that way.
