A friend of mine has just shown me a gift from his father; a cello, sunburst guitar "The Michigan" dating from the '50s. Not a great guitar but competently made and finished. It's my guess that it may be one of the Gibson family, i.e. when an apprentice finshed his training he would build a guitar for the Sears or J C Penney catalogue range. Anyone out there help us with more info on this guitar?
