Folk songs, and other sorts of songs, can help to change attitudes and reinforce values. They can also help to change opinions.

The majority of the discussions I have seen about this situation have revolved around all of the above. I know that songs are not the only tool for creating positive change, but they have an important power. Rock Against Racism is one example.

I'm hoping and praying that good sense, and good values will prevail over the initial & more basic human/reactive impulses to retaliate regardless of the consequences.
