Thanks, Spaw, that's good information.

I seem to be clean, thank God.

Just to reassure the large number of people I mail with, since the SIRCAM scare I've used Hotmail without Outlook Express except for about four messages that were so big they had to go through our home ISP. But in any case, in the body of the message I always give the document name of any files I am sending, and the size they should be as well. If my message quotes the sender's message it should appear as text, not a .eml extension, unless the recipient has chosen a setting that converts them that way. And I am virus-updating and scanning weekly, automatically. But I will be suspending mailing any attachments at all until Norton has the scan and fix for this one, ready to go. And anyone who gets a mail "from" me that does not meet these tests should ask me if I sent it, before opening it.

OE had been very useful in synchronizing multiple mail addresses, archiving from all onto the hard drive, and could combine POP and IMAP mails-- Netscape, as far as I can determine, does not. But that does it for OE for me. I think this continued industrial sabotage on MS products sucks, but I can't keep playing this game.

Thanks again for letting us all know.

BTW, the "I send this to ask your advice" one with a .pif file attached is still floating around as well. Someone "sent" it to me last week, and of course I did not open it and am still scanning all clean, but do be looking out for that one, folks, as well.
