... and isn't this a metaphor? We've had our share of unpleasantness in THIS community, but the spirit of the place is undaunted.

After a really tough day today -- not to mention feeling the effects of the last week or so, however distantly, I had a blind date tonight with another mudcatter.

Abby and his family are delightful. Though the (fabulous old-time) music was loud, and the hour was late and the nerves were frayed, it was just so nice to make one of those wonderful connections that this place has become famous for. A quick dinner, faces to put to the names, and a reminder that there are some things that we will always have in common, despite our differences. One of those things is music, and a love of sharing it. Thanks, Abby and mudcat, for a sanity break.
