The recording I remember is on Wednesday Morning 3 AM by Simon and Garfunkel. It's called "You Can Tell the World," by B. Gibson and B. Camp (Bob Gibson & Hamilton Camp, but that's another story). Interestingly, only 4 of the 12 songs on this CD are attributed to Paul Simon. The other 4 albums are almost completely Paul Simon songs.
