Stewie,

You are correct. Thanks.

All,

Don't get me wrong. I don't trmember EVER meeting Mr. McGuinn ! We saw him on Sundays at the Gate of Horn hoots and we couldn't believe he was as good as he was being that young. Then he was off with the Mitchell Trio.

It was another 6 months before I learned my first 3 chords--in '60---on a $10.00 Stella I bought from Joel Cantor when I was at the U. of Illinois in Champaign. I did NOT do well that year in school. All I wanted to do was pick. Came back to the U. of I. in Chicago--at Navy Pier. Continued in school there for 3 more years (it was only a 2 year branch then)--gigging on the side and flunking courses 'cause all I still wanted to do was be Kerouac and pick guitar. Finally the guitar and banjo won the tug of war with school. That's all she wrote...
