Thread Name: Lyr Add: Ag Pleez Daddy (Jeremy Taylor)
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Ag Pleez Daddy
Howzit! To use a South African greeting.

Here are some minor corrections an gap fillers to "Ag pleez daddy!" also know as "The ballad of the southern suburbs." The Northern suburbs of Johannesburg is(was) where the wealthy live(d)while poor whites lived in the southern suburbs.

..."that" or "an" ou called Sky High Lee. An ou is Afrikaans for a fellow. At one time "Ou" jokes were the rage in South Africa. eg What's a trio? Answer: An ou who lives in a tree. Sky High Lee was a Texan wrestler. Willie Liebenberg (not Liefenberg) was a local wrestler.

......cos Willie's gonna donner that blerry Yankee

donner means beat up

The song ends with "Voetsek!" pronounced Footsek!(foot as in put) with the meaning already alluded to!

Cheers, David.
