Yes - some silly Kiwi person thought there was a quid to be made from possum fur ... but all his imported possums escaped and their descendants took possession of all the tree-hollows in New Zealand forests - dispossesing the birds from the forest canopy.

Now there are hardly any birds left to eat the insect pests - and NZ's native forests will eventually be wiped out by the consequences of greed. (And the human population will all get on Qantas planes and move into flats in Bondi!)
