Paul G., Ebbie: Perhaps I over-reached when I used the word Liberal (though I do beieve the show itself definitely espouses the Liberal philosophy). I am aware that September 11 had noting to do with the theme of the script, but it seemed to me that Sorkin was seizing the opportunity to use the Bully-pulpit to "preach" to America, and his message was heavily tilted to reflect his personal philosophy. If there had been a real "shut down" at the White House because of some national emergency I can assure you the whole White House staff (or the President) would not have informally gathered in the White House cafeteria to give a history/civics lesson to a group of high school students (and the television audience of course).
They would have been VERY busy.
If you have listened to CNN or Fox News Network, or read a newspaper today you will see that I am not alone in my criticism.
You liked, and that's fine. It was intended to entertain, I suppose, and it definitely enjoyed good viewership.
