If you are new to a session then a few discreet questions or just listening for the first 20 - 30 mins should give you an idea if songs are acceptable, tolerated or ignored.

Then you just plough on and insist on singing anyway............?

Some singers do. I am not suggesting Liz that you would do this but I have seen many, many occasions when this has happened.

And it has ben tolerated on every occasion.

That is all I am asking for, a little understanding of the other side's view.
