I was under the impression that the U.S. was the leading provider of aid to Afghanistan long before this crisis. Also, it might be best to describe the refugees as victims of their own maniacal government rather than the U.S., just as Iraqui's are the victims of Saddam's squandering of his country's wealth rather than U.S. sanctions.
