catspaw, my mom (part Pennsylvania Dutch) loved scrapple, but she made it more like polenta with bits of leftover pork roast; chill, slice, fry, add maple syrup.... there is no way the kids would have eaten it with any other 'parts' in it. (Or DID she? moms can be sneaky.)
