Reminds me of a story...

Back in 1975, Jack Elliott got me a backstage pass for Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.

During the show, I'm one of about 10 or 12 people watching from the passageway between the backstage area and the arena when a Maple Leaf Gardens security guy comes around and starts checking peoples' passes. He shines his light on my chest, sees the pass and doesn't say a word.

He moves to the woman behind me, shines the light on her chest and there's no pass. He then shines the light in her face and tells her that the area is restricted and that she has to go back to her seat.

She says to him, "I'm supposed to be here."

He's orders her out again and she repeats, "I'm supposed to be here."

At that point, the Rolling Thunder security guys see what's happening and go tell the Gardens guy to take a hike.

The woman standing behind me was Joan Baez.
