Because it would fall the evening before Thanksgiving, the the New York Pinewoods Traditional Music Open Microphone for the month of November 2001 is canceled.

The October open mic will take place this coming Wednesday, October 17, 2001, from 7:00 to 9:45 PM as scheduled. The next session will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2001, and then the third Wednesday of each month thereafter. The venue is the Triad Lounge, 158 West 72nd Street, New York City. Sign-up begins at 6:45 PM.

For those of you who face trad music withdrawal symptoms, New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club has the antidote: come to our all-day Fall Fling - Ed Fest on Saturday, November 17, 2001. It's at Public School 199, 270 West 70th Street, New Tork City. The fun runs from 10:00 AM to 11:00, and includes workshops, master classes, a grand contra-dance, and a concert. Cosponsors include the Country Dance Society of New York and the NY-NJ Trails Conference.
