Thread Name: Kudos to Alison!
Subject: new music - old thread
A link to threads when relevent would be helpful - and it would also tell Dick and Susan, etc. that the song was in the forum rather than in the DT database. But I would still prefer to have old threads refreshed. One reason is that if I'm doing a forum search I don't have to then go to a few different threads to get the material and associated commentary. I should think from the technical side that Max also would prefer to have less rather than more threads. I have in mind the fairly short threads, not the ones that have ~50 plus entries and take ages to download - if that's the right term). If you add 'music add' to the thread title in the subject line of your own response, Susan, Dick et. al could still periodically do a "music add" search to find all the new tunes. I don't know whether that's necessary. If the song is already in the DT database, my comments don't apply. If it's not, presumably the team will look through the thread from its beginning through to the last entry before copying lyrics from it (people often make corrections and additions to early lyric offerings in a thread). As you rightly said, we should get the opinions of the people who do the compilation work. But as a Mudcatter user and contributor, I'm giving you my opinion. Meanwhile, do keep supplying tnes, whatever way you do it - thanks!
