There will be a benefit concert of Maritime and Irish Folk Songs on Staten Island in New York City on Saturday, October 20th. All proceeds go to the New York City Firemen's Widows and Childrens Fund, and to the Staten Island Firefighters' Memorial.Performing will be many singers from South Street Seaport Museum in Manhattan (Jan Christensen, Dan Milner & Bob Conroy, Stout) and Irish Fever. Admission is $10.
The concert will be held at St. Paul's RC Church, 145 Clinton Avenue, Staten Island, NY. The church hall is 2 blocks from historic Sailors' Snug Harbor (where Bill Doerflinger collected "The Leaving of Liverpool" from Dick Maitland).
