The Engine 33 fundraiser went well also, Mary Courtney was to be there, and to everyones surprise and joy, she showed up with Morning Star, her band, they performed Christmas in the Trenches, and we all wept. I was accompanyed by the very tallented Mary Shannon, who was grabbed into this while still jet lagged from her return from Belfast, Joel Landy and Heather Lev where wonderful, I am blanking on the names of the others, all of whom were wonderful. Anna, of Ladder 9, one of FDNYC's few women fire Fighters was in the Audience. I had met her a few days before when I was evacuated from my place when the building next door caught fire! Let's not let this be the last of the concerts for the FDNY. I was playing at the funeral of a fire fighter Saturday morning in Bay Side. The two issue the fire fighters stressed is that there are fire houses in some nieghborhoods, like Ocean Hill Brownsville, where they feel isolated. Lets start getting a school program together to play in schools in those places, with visits by fire fighters, to instruct the kids what their fire fighters do, and change that dynamic. Also they were concerned that others will not have the fundraisers, so I told them about our plans for an April fundraiser in London, DC and NY for the forigners killed in the trade center. So let's get it together to work together to move forward from this in the spirit of concern and honnor for those who died and did so much. Well done Dan, Cheers Larry
