To take this a little further Mooman, I understand that Koa wood (from Hawaii, and maybe elsewhere) is a relative of Mahogany. I would be very interested in your comments on the tonal qualities of both, plus your take on some of the other woods used in wooden instruments, like spruce, walnut, cedar, maple and like.
