Thread Name: Lyr Req: Big T Water (Michael Parks)
Subject: Lyr Add: BIG T WATER
I found my cache of ancient LPs (interred in a box since we moved three years ago!) and "Long Lonesome Highway" was in it—so, here tis (one word I'm not sure of):
Down Big Thompson Canyon, across the Great Divide, I can hear her water rollin', and runnin' deep and wide. Carryin' the life stream to the people down below, Big T Water, don't you move along so slow.
CHORUS: Big T Water, down the mountain and to the plains, Big T Water, we don't care if it ever rains. Sunshine and water will make those crops grow fine, Big T Water, keep a rollin' down the line.
Back in the 30s, when the hard Depression hit, All the men for miles around were diggin' in Thompson Pit. Workin' from dawn to sunset, just to make that desert bloom, Now Big Thompson Country (?) people got a lot of room.
CHORUS
Repeat last line: Big T Water, keep a rollin' down the line.
