Deckman:

Thanks for taking the time to write an appreciative note. While we are at it, I look forward to reading your posts. I particularly enjoyed the McCarthy and Walt Robertson threads.

I sure do agree about the discovery of a post or thread where people write about things they know and share experience which is usually far better than sharing opinions. There is a core (and maybe even corps) of people on Mudcat who have had experience and time to reflect on its meaning. There are also people with real knowledge matched with good minds. Those posts can be treasures.

As for "I was born in Petaluma", you have given the song new life by passing it on to me. I look forward to tossing it into a song session. Is there any more?

Mudcat is getting so big that I've beent hinking that it may make more sense to look up posts by the people whose interests are similar to mine rather than just poking through the long lists of threads. When I looked you up I saw there were several threads you had participated in that I had missed totally. Maybe this is a better way of fnding the substantive threads.
