Sorcha, thanks for the link - somehow I didn't find that myself. I rechecked Cunningham's version (which checks ok with my transcription) and there are some slight differences (in accidentals). Measure 4 - 4th note is C natural, not sharp; measure 17 - 4th note is C sharp, not natural; measure 18 - 4th note is B flat, not natural. It is in D Dorian with some modulation in the beginning of the B part, then going back to D dorian. I think Johnny's version sounds a bit more mournfull. Anyway, it's been an interesting diversion for me, now I have to learn to play it on my fiddle. I've posted my transcription on my music web page HERE.
