Thanks SantaSinsull - My family never celebrated Christmas. We gave each other presents and had a wonderful mean and sang secular X-mas songs, but only to celebrate the joy of family and partly to make it easier for me when I went to school and was asked about the presents I received. I never was taught to think of Santa as a real person and grew up considering him to be a Christian analogy for Jesus that children could understand. (i.e. - be good all year long and receive your reward from the all-knowing, loving Santa).
At this point in my life I celebrate Yule for myself and give friends presents for whatever holiday they observe.
