To push the animal analogy further, it would be appalling if a swarm of gnats - however irritating they are - killed off Mudcat. Yes, it has been harder of late to find music interests amongst all the other stuff that has been raised - but the interests are still there, and Mudcat continues to provide an incredible service to musicians of all standards. I hardly even count myself in the musician category, given my meagre standards, but I have used Mudcat almost daily since I first encountered it and it has given me great pleasure as well as useful information. Occasionally, I have been able to give a little back, and am grateful for the opportunity to do so.

About the only thing I think I can do directly to address Max's challenge to 'show him' is to make sure I keep the focus on music. As it is, I very rarely post to non-music threads, but at least for the next month or two, if Max is willing to keep things going, other threads will be out-of-bounds for me. As for the happiness angle, I have always found that the people who I have spoken to through Mudcat have guaranteed that.
