I believe you can download a trial version of Norton Anti-virus at wwww.symantec.com, but you should go ahead and purchase a good anti-virus program: it's definitely worth having one, and the trial downloads are usually 40-50MB. I've had very good sucess with Norton's products, but there are others, too. Once you've got your anti-virus program installed, connect to the manufacturer's website and download any available updates, re-boot your computer and run a full scan of all drives and memory. This should find your virus, and from this point you can follow your anti-virus software's instructions to get rid of the little pest. Once you've got the virus cleared, be sure to update your anti-virus software frequently. Norton's Anti-virus has a built-in routine that checks for updates, and I imagine other programs have this feature, too. Most anti-virus programs will also allow you to schedule automatic scans of your computer whenever you'd like.
