Thread Name: Origins: When I First Came to This Land
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: When I first came to this land
My partner, Landlady's Daughter, used to sing a housing parody of this song called "I Ripped Off What I could." The first verse ran:

When I first came to this land,
I was not a wealthy man;
So I bought a row of shacks
And I ripped off all I could!
I called those rows,
"Pay Through the Nose"
And the rents were sweet and good,
I ripped off what I could!

Them was the days!
