The Manchester Mudcat Ramble
(with profound apologies to Ewan MacColl)

The White Lion on Friday will sure be a high day,
When 'Cats sing and play music as well.
And if you are lucky, then down at the Ducie,
There'll be many fine stories to tell.
Then its Pauline's in Failsworth on Sunday,
For the ones who can get out of bed;
But I'll be trying to part with my curry,
And feeling I'd rather be dead.

Chorus: I'm a Mudcat, I'm a Mudcat, down Machester way,
I get all my pleasure the musical way.
I may be a wageslave on Monday,
But I am a singer on Sunday.

I love the idea of a peripatetic Meeting which seems to be developing. If I've understood correctly the schedule that is emerging looks something like this:
Friday evening 7 Dec Singaround at White Lion, Swinton
Saturday afternoon 8 Dec Open Mic at White Lion
Saturday teatime Curry Heaven in Rusholme
Saturday evening Music and Singing at the Ducie, Rusholme
Sunday afternoon 9 Dec Open Door at Pauline's in Failsworth

If this is correct, subject to any subsequent amendments, additions, etc etc then could some kind soul provide addresses of venues and/or directions to them.

PS Spot, were you in Whitby for the Captain Cook Festival, and if so did we meet? Some of my memories of that weekend are a little hazy!! I have been told that I was dancing to reggae at 3am on the Sunday morning!!!
