Well, smallpipers...

On Saturday nights between 2100 and 0100 there's a session with fiddler Brian Conway at O'Neill's (Third Ave & 45th St.). That is free but, of course, you would have to buy a drink.

On Sunday afternoon, 2DEC, there's this... South Street Seaport Museum's Sea Music Concert Series continues on Sunday, December 2nd with special guest Captain Rick Nestler. Virtually any singer claiming a nautical title has usually tested little more than tepid bathwater. Not so Captain Rick Nestler, who holds a 100-ton U.S, Coast Guard Master's License. A veteran of the ecological sloop, 'Clearwater,' he is currently captain of the schooner 'Argia' of Mystic, Connecticut. Well-traveled Captain Rick has sung on every type of stage from concert halls to festivals to jook joints between St. Thomas and Toronto, California and Maine. His repertoire contains the traditional songs of his native Hudson Valley, deepwater chanteys, and songs about his personal experience such as "The River That Flows Both Ways" recently recorded for Sony Records by his good friend Pete Seeger. Captain Rick Nestler accompanies himself on 12-string guitar and tenor banjo. South Street Seaport Museum's Sea Music Concert Series is hosted by the museum's own maritime singing group, The New York Packet and is co-sponsored by the New York Folk Music Society. The Sunday, December 2nd concert will be held in the South Street Seaport Museum's Whitman Gallery, 209 Water Street (between Fulton and Beekman Streets) in Manhattan. It begins at 3 PM and the suggested donation is $3.
