I respectfully disagree. I'm very fond of "Faust" (the album, not the character), except for the horrible Don Henley songs. But James Taylor is such a terrifyingly amiable and callous almighty, and Newman such a sadsack Satan. It is usually discounted, though, and this is good.
At the end of a tense and gory ER last night, Dr. Weaver stood alone in a puddle and the soundtrack went into "I Think It's Gonna Rain Today": made me fill up.Randy Newman is such a mensch, bless his soul.
