Ah, such wonderful nostalgia. I loved Robinson CrusoeM and was spooked by the Singing Ringing Tree. There used to be a definite breakdown between Blue Peter and Magpie viewers though. The former was much more middle class and improving, wheras Magpie was seen as far funkier - maybe because Susan Stranks often didn't wear a bra and had nipples like Scammel wheel-nuts (puberty's a terrible thing!).
I got a Blue Peter badge once (never got invited into the studio though - chiz - it just came through the post in return for a 6ft dinosaur mural made of egg-cartons).
I wore it for so long that the blue painted ship eventually wore off, leaving me with a plastic white shield. And then the pin broke, and so did my heart...
