OE is not a bad program in many ways i.e., it will do many tricks, but they want it to be 'open' to their products and to easily interface with other programs; consequently, there are secutity holes in it...and these are what hackers and virus writers attempt to exploit.

Eudora, FoxMail, Pegasus and others WANT to be secure and design their programs to make it difficult for viruses to operate **unless YOU go out of your way to help the virus**!!. The new PegasusMail, in particular, was written to be as secure as any email program can be....as well as having wonderful features. (Me? I have about 8 ways I *can* check my mail, but the final download is still to Eudora, just because I like the interface better)

(many people simply consider Eudora to 'look better' and have more user-friendly options and menus)
