Sandy, Oh boy does that bring back memories (and smiles!) The ultimate "flop eared Mule." Actually the second part sounded to me like "reel (real) whirl" etc. stc. This may have been the first musical satire on trad material. Do you remember how they did "Blues in the Bottle?" ..."Goin' to Silly Putty, goin' to...." (believe the real lyric was "Goin' to Cincinnati")....."I can't abide no woman, who goes round sniffin' glue"! From the interview with Stampfel, I gather that they were sniffin' more than glue!
