MummersWe will be performing again this year with several Mudcatters playing different parts.

Salford Priors PlayThis year we are doing the Salford Priors Mummers Play, which is based on the disjointed recollections of Ross Hunt and Jack Basket of Salford Priors. It has been pieced together from the records in the Carpenter Collection, which is part of the Morris Ring of England's National Mummers Archive kept by Ron Shuttleworth. They were taught the play in the 1880s by Ernest Bennett of Hampton and Albert Teal of Salford Priors and had never seen it written down.

Programme We would welcome seeing any Mudcatters at our performances, which are around South Warwickshire, North Gloucestershire and East Worcestershire, in a total of 30 pubs between 30 November and 6 January. See Mummers programme for the details.

Songs We always finish with one of three traditional songs: Not For Joe, Camptown Races and Old Bob Riddley.

My uncle Billy had a ten-foot w*ll**
And he showed it to the girl next door,
She thought it was a snake and hit it with a rake,
And now its only five foot four...

Wassail!
