Transatlantic Sessions 2 was commissioned by BBC Scotland for transmission in Scotland only. Unfortunately the fact the first series got a UK Network transmission doesn't in any way guarantee the second series will get one. Many programmes are made in the different Nations - Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the English Regions which are never shown on the Network, some might say this is a BBC weakness but we feel it allows various Nations and Regions to make programmes tailored to their own communities. We understand that occasionally viewers will be frustrated by this fact.

So at the moment we have no plans to repeat the series. I can assure you this does not indicate any change in music policy by the BBC. I appreciate that this must be disappointing for yourself and other folk music fans but please remember the BBC does try to cater for all music tastes on all its services be that Television, Network Radio and Local Radio, including the Cambridge Folk Festival on BBC Two.
