Have to agree with Murray on that. Ever notice that the most successful "fortune tellers" foretell in the vaguest terms possible? Some quatrains of Nostradamus could be interpreted to fit every disaster from WWII to Princess Diana breaking a finger nail, all with perfect accuracy. They are written in cryptic terms with multi-meaning symbols so that they can be seen to fit a situation after the fact.
On January 1, did any one of the "psychics" say "I see the WTC hit by planes and in ruins and it will happen on September 11?" It is always "I see world shattering events that will test the skills and strength of leaders worldwide in the year to come." So if there is a major earthquake or Microsoft goes belly up, the psychic accurately predicted it. Has there ever been a year without world shattering events testing leadership somewhere? Not in my lifetime.
As far as psychic powers - I have my doubts. My own personal feeling is that it is a skill or talent passed on in the genes much as the ability to compose music or draw. And though I can't prove it, my theory is that it involves brain patterns and/or signals sent out by the brain which some are more skilled at sending/receiving or perhaps recognizing than others. My experiences invariably include a feeling of an electric shock - a momentary zap not the vague feeling that something is wrong. Strange business and totally out of my control.
