Dunno about a mud rat, but a mudcat is apparently a type of catfish. According to legend, it likes to jump out of banjos (banjoes?). I can't help with a gig list, but if you ever see Nicky Moore's Blues Corporation (or just Nicky Moore) advertised DON'T MISS IT. The guy is a little bit good.
