Gnu, I don't want Quebec to separate.
But that reflects MY heritage is mostly French, with a large portion of Irish and Scot, and a dash of aboriginal.
Now, my mom, on the other hand, is Québecoise, by birth...ie, of French origin. SHE wants a separate nation. And can defend her choice politically and historically--which makes for some interesting arguments between us.

And she is old enough to remember that Canada promised Quebec after the first world war, never to conscript Quebecers for foreign wars.
