Norton Anti-virus is the same way - every time I go online it automatically updates. And I set it to scan my entire system once a week. Since I nearly always delete attachments without opening them I haven't had an issue with virus's in the past several months. I tried to get people to not send me attachments - but all that did was get people mad - funny business this internet at times.
