A long shot...Growing up in the early '70's in the UK, a school song was popularly sung just before each holiday:
"No more days of school
No more days of sorrow"
There was another line refering to the teachers:
"We do the work
They get the money"
Memory suggests that it was sung to a varient of 'One man went to mow' but my memory may well be playing tricks.
Anyone recognise it? Or, have anything else to add?
