Sandy, I bet the Stan Rogers song was "You Can't Stay Here", I think that's what it's called, where he tells this lady that she has to go home because he's married(?) and has to go to sleep, and the song keeps getting slower and slower, and finally just trails off...
I remember thinking when I heard it the first time that it was a sneaky come on. ("Gosh, Sweetie, I told her to go home, I guess I just fell asleep and she climbed in with me, and...")
Funny, I always thought playing guitar provided a little dry air between me and the other interested party, sort of a folk shield. (There was a scene like that in 'Fritz the Cat', anyone remember?) Or how many sad Joan Baez songs can you listen to before you get bored and go home?
