Carol, I've often thought that people can have a 'right' instrument, but when I went to the music teachers at my son's school and asked: 'how do I find the right instrument for my child?' I was met with completely blank looks.

Their only answer was 'we've no idea - you choose the instrument and we'll teach it'.

And yet, I've still a notion that, given the opportunity to try a whole lot of different instruments, one may really stand out for us as 'our' instrument. And maybe it has something to do with your 'brain wiring'.

But I think my wires have become crossed...!
